About Moonrakers

Welcome to Moonrakers, a thoughtfully renovated whaling captain’s house in the heart of Nantucket’s historic district.  Built in 1806 by carpenter Lot Hinckley, this 4BR/3.5BA home (sleeps 8+) radiates island style and charm.  Authentic architectural details, classic yet comfortable decor, in-town convenience, and secure off-street parking are just a few of the reasons why you will fall in love with Moonrakers. The house can accommodate 8 people with extra sofa beds and a third-floor loft in case of overflow. Moonrakers’ recently revamped gourmet kitchen features updated amenities including Viking appliances, stainless cookware, and Carrera marble countertops.  Enjoy an island adventure any season with 6 working fireplaces or central A/C, and classic mahogany furnishings with indigo blue and white decor.

Moonrakers consists of 9 rooms plus a third floor loft for over 2500 square feet of living space. The first floor consists of living and dining rooms with fireplaces; a kitchen, a laundry room, a first-floor queen bedroom, and a powder room. The second floor has additional living room and 3 bedrooms, each with king sized beds and bathrooms.  The rear master bedroom has both a shower and a lilliputian bathtub. We do have a brand new cot that can be rolled about for another guest/child. The powder room and outdoor shower is especially convenience for guests staying in the first-floor bedroom. Our window’s walk, accessed through the third floor loft, is a magical place for sunset cocktails and morning coffee.

In addition to Moonwalkers’ classic island style, its location is truly ideal. 29 Union is a four-minute walk to Main Street where you will find independent boutiques, restaurants, art galleries, a movie theatre, library, whaling museum, the boat basin, and both grocery & liquor stores.  Best of all, Moonrakers offers 3 off-street parking spaces so you can enjoy the beach by day and town by night without the parking hassle!  We look forward to your visit!
